To tackle the question of whether or not we have free will, I think we need to first determine what it means to have a choice. So, my question is this: if a person's choice can be predicted ahead of time, is it still a choice? Example: if you were offered two choices of dessert (perhaps a slice of cake or pie), and it was obvious to people who knew you, which one you would take, was that still a choice?
The definition of Free Will is often based upon having the ability to make a choice. If the answer to my question is yes, then it's possible for determinism and fate (the outcome is already known) to coexist with Free Will (choice).
